A key component of a successful business is having a fully engaged global workforce. To maximize the potential and productivity of individuals, teams and businesses, companies must consider the rippling impact of poor employee health on the entire organization.
Between 2008 and 2014, corporate interest in strategies and programming to impact employee health increased more than 50%.1 In 2010, the National Business Group on Health® began recognizing companies that were addressing the health of their global workforces with its Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles® award program. Now entering its eighth year, the Global Distinction award identifies and rewards companies that are doing great things to support the holistic health and well-being of their global workforces and their families. That includes all coordinated and strategic efforts to address the physical health, emotional health, financial security, social connectedness, community involvement and job satisfaction of employees and dependents around the world.
